Place 5 - Term Ends 2019
Vice President Ryan Ray, an attorney and entrepreneur, joined the Board of Trustees in 2012, desiring to serve because he is the parent of a Crowley ISD student.
“If I’m going to be involved in something, I want to be involved in it,” Ray said. “I don’t want to just sit on the sidelines.”
Ray is not only a parent to a Crowley ISD student, but also a proud graduate who attended kindergarten through 12th grade in Crowley schools.
After graduation, he attended Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, Pennsylvania and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He attended law school at Texas Wesleyan University, which is now Texas A&M University School of Law, where he obtained his juris doctorate.
Ray has served as a Fort Worth area attorney since 2009. He also is an entrepreneur with property management and investment companies.
The Place 5 trustee considers education to be the “foundation for everything.”
“To do anything as a society or individual, you’ve got to have a quality education,” he said. “Improving education is the way we as individuals and we as a society improve our lot in the world.”
He said it’s important the district does everything it can to provide the best education to all students to help them advance in the world and launch as many off to college as possible.
His hope for Crowley ISD is to see it become “one of the best school districts in the state and a place where people are highly motivated to go and where we can really help kids reach their full potential.”
Fun Fact: Ray participated in debate throughout his high school career.
