Chief Employee Services Officer

Dr. Kohler leads the Employee Services Department and her responsibilities include the supervision of both the Human Resources and Professional Development Departments. Among her many duties, she serves as the district’s oversight for recruitment and retention of personnel, staffing plans, compensation, employee relations, professional learning and leadership development.

Kohler received her undergraduate degree from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas, and earned a master’s degree in Education from Texas Woman’s University in Denton. She completed her Doctorate of Education from Texas Christian University in 2012. Dr. Kohler also holds Texas superintendent, principal, ESL and Gifted and Talented certifications.

She joined CISD as a Gifted and Talented Specialist in 1996. In addition, she served as an assistant principal and principal at Parkway Elementary and later opened Sidney H. Poynter Elementary School in 2005. Dr. Kohler moved to central administration as the Director of Curriculum and Staff Development in 2006 before being named Chief Instruction Officer in 2008. She has served as the Chief Employee Services Officer since 2014.

Dr. Kohler is married and has two daughters who are graduates of Crowley ISD. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, gardening, and spending time with her family.
