Meet Principal Muhammad

Rashad Muhammad stepped in to lead Crowley Learning Center in the summer of 2018 after serving as an assistant principal at Crowley High School.

Why did you choose education as a career?
I remember career day as a second grader at Eisenhower Elementary School in Piscataway, NJ. I told the class I wanted to be a principal when I grew up. I used to see my principal in the hallways, speaking with students, and I always thought to myself that I wanted to do the same thing when I got older. Ever since then, my goal was to become a teacher, and ultimately, an administrator.

    Why is education important?
We need well-rounded, highly-knowledgeable, competent individuals entering our society as adults. The students we serve today will be world leaders tomorrow. It is vital we provide each student we serve with the opportunity to maximize their educational expertise. This allows them to become productive members of society later.

What is your hope for your campus?
My hope is that we provide every student placed in our care with a pleasant educational experience. We will strive to build strong relationships with all students and positively change the trajectories in their lives. We expect all students to be fully prepared for re-entry to their home campuses.

Tell us more about yourself and your family.
I’m a graduate of Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida. It was at this phenomenal institute of higher learning where I met my wonderful wife, Nirvanna, a Pre-K teacher at Poynter Elementary. Our son Rashad is a seventh grader at Summer Creek Middle School. Our daughter, Nia, is a second grader at Oakmont Elementary School, along with our son, Amaré, who is a kindergartener. We are extremely proud to all be in the BEST DISTRICT IN TEXAS! We love Crowley ISD!
