    Reimbursement for Leave Upon Retirement
    Reminder, if you plan to retire at the end of 2017-18, you must provide written notice of intent to retire on or before March 1, 2018 to be eligible for reimbursement of unused local leave.

    Per Board Policy DEC (Local), the following conditions must apply:
    • The employee’s retirement is voluntary, i.e., the employee is not being discharged or non-renewed.
    • The employee provides advance written notice of intent to retire.  Contract employees must provide written notice at least 90 days before the last day of employment.  Non-contract employees must provide written notice at least two weeks before the last day of employment.
    • The employee has at least ten years of service with the District. 

    The employee shall be reimbursed for each day of accumulated unused local leave at one-half of the employee’s daily rate of pay up to a maximum of $5,000.
