As a former teacher and mother of two, Nedra Robinson understands how a high-quality education can change the trajectory of a family.

That’s why Robinson is thrilled to see that Crowley ISD offers ALL students a variety of innovative programs, such as STEM Plus, Career and Technical Education (CTE), Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH), fine arts and much more.

She’s excited to see the growing diversity of languages, cultures, ethnicities and economics in the Crowley area.

“In Crowley ISD, we offer the same world-class education to each child, so students from any background are able to excel,” she said.

Robinson, who currently serves as a data analyst in a neighboring school district, left teaching for a brief period to focus on policy and public administration, serving as a deputy district director for a Texas state representative.

When presented with the opportunity to run for Crowley ISD in 2017, Robinson believed it would give her a chance to incorporate both her education and policy background.

“Serving and impacting students, staff and my community at the local level has given me so much joy,” she said.

During Robinson’s tenure on the board, the district has gone from a “C” rated district to a “B” with no “Improvement Required” campuses. Like her colleagues and superintendent, she believes Crowley ISD will become a renowned school district across the state and nation because of the great work it does for students.

Robinson has a master’s degree in Public Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is currently working on her doctorate in Education Leadership from Tarleton State University.

Fun Fact: Robinson grew up as a military dependent from birth to 18 years old. Her favorite place to live was Incirlik Air Force Base in Turkey where she attended seventh through ninth grades.
