2017-18 New Programs

  • The Crowley ISD Board of Trustees approved new exciting options for several students in the 2017-18 school.

Dallas Park Elementary School will host the STEAM Academy for kindergarten-fourth grade students. The program will encourage excellence through the integration of science, technology, engineering, the arts and math in a variety of educational experiences within the core disciplines.

    STEAM Academy

This is a program for students who are interested in learning about science and math in an engaging and creative way. Dallas Park Elementary School Principal Kevin Hunt said. Our STEAM Academy will teach children how to collaborate and work well with each other. Those are skills that are really going to benefit them as they get older and move into intermediate, middle and high school.

    Media Arts Academy

H.F. Stevens Middle School was approved to offer the Media Arts Academy for seventh-eighth grade students. This program of choice emphasizes the integration of arts and technology around a variety of experiences in the visual, digital, media and performance arts.

In our world today, everything we do is geared towards technology, H.F. Stevens Middle School Principal Kim Buckhalton said. The Media Arts Academy takes technology to the next level by showing students how to incorporate artistic elements like graphic design and visual production to prepare them for the careers of tomorrow.
