    SH Crowley Intermediate Fine Arts Academy has a mission to enhance learning by integrating the disciplines of the arts to create an atmosphere inspiring emotional, intellectual, and creative discovery while upholding the highest academic standards and providing a platform for students to develop their unique skills in order to become a positive influence on our global community.
     
     
     
    ACADEMY INFORMATION & SUMMARY

    SH Crowley Intermediate Fine Arts Academy is a Crowley ISD choice program created to empower fifth- and sixth- grade students in academic and artistic excellence. We have a dual purpose of providing advanced academics and the arts in an environment that encourages excellence through arts integration in the core subjects, as well as art electives. The Fine Arts Academy is open to students with experience in the arts or those who are interested.
     
     
    Fifth Grade Fine Arts Electives 
    Art: In the Fine Arts Academy art class, we are beginning the year with learning and practicing drawing skills. We will paint with both acrylic paints and watercolor paints this year. We will also create works of art using clay. Students will also become familiar with famous works of art and artists.
     
    Choir: The Fine Arts Academy choir class is the only choir offered for 5th graders as part of the school curriculum in Crowley ISD. Students choosing to take part in choir are given instruction in sight-reading and vocal production. They perform various styles of music and choreography.

    Dance: In the Fine Arts Academy dance class, students will learn many different genres of dance and the technique it requires to perform 
    them well. Our goal is to help all students gain confidence and reign in their existing talent with a fun energetic approach.

    Theatre: In the Fine Arts Academy theatre course students will have an interactive approach to theatre where they will learn acting, history, and different genres of theatre, like musicals and tech theatre. They will also learn how to gain confidence in front of their peers and audiences, which will not only help them in class, but help them succeed in their educational careers.

     
    Sixth Grade Fine Arts Electives
    Dance: In the Fine Arts Academy dance class students will learn many different genres of dance and the technique it requires to perform them well. Our goal is to help all students gain confidence and reign in their existing talent with a fun energetic approach.

    Tech Art: In the Fine Arts Academy Tech Art class students will use various forms of technology to create, design, and/or develop projects based on subject matter and personal interests. Students are free to explore their own interests and develop projects that demonstrate their personality and skills.

    Theatre: In the Fine Arts Academy theatre course students will have an interactive approach to theatre where they will learn acting, history, and different genres of theatre, like musicals and tech theatre. They will also learn how to gain confidence in front of their peers and audiences, which will not only help them in class, but help them succeed in their educational careers.

    World Art: In the Fine Arts Academy World Art class, just as the 6th graders travel the world in Social Studies, we will also be traveling the world learning about famous artists from several regions and the art techniques they used. The students will then practice these techniques as they create their own masterpieces. We will also delve into some art techniques from ancient civilizations and attempt those as well.
