Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018 is the first day of school. Friday, May 24, 2019 is the last day of school. Crowley ISD is a District of Innovation which gives us more flexibility in creating our calendar and deciding on start and end dates to best serve our community.
When does the first semester end?
The first semester ends Dec. 21, 2018. This will allow students to take semester exams prior to Winter Break at the recommendation of high school and middle school teachers, principals, parents and DWEIC.
What happens on early release days?
The District has scheduled four early release days for Pre-Kindergarten-12th grade to allow for crucial staff development training and collaboration time (Oct. 5, Dec. 21, Feb. 15 and May 24). Early release times are 11:35 a.m. for elementary, 12:05 p.m. for intermediate and middle school, and 12:40 p.m. for high school. State testing dates (STAAR and End of Course Assessments) can be found by grade/subject level on the Texas Education Agency’s website: http://www.tea.state.tx.us/student.assessment/calendars/

Dates for CHS and NCHS graduations will be announced when facilities for the ceremonies have been secured.
How does this school calendar compare with other local school districts?
Crowley ISD coordinates with other surrounding districts in developing a school calendar in an effort to ensure we have similar start/end dates and the same major holidays as possible.
