A project sponsored by Perkins School for the Blind, is dedicated to helping parents of young children with visual impairments as well as children with multiple disabilities. You'll find a database of articles written by parents who want to share with others what they've learned about playing with and teaching a blind child, as well as links to meaningful resources and ways to connect with other families.
Seedlings Braille Books for Children
A 501(c)3 non-profit, tax-exempt organization dedicated to increasing the opportunity for literacy by providing high quality, free or low cost braille books for children.
Texas State Library Talking Book Program
Provides free library services for Texans with blindness or visual, physical or reading disabilities. Registered TBP users may borrow books and magazines in digital audio, Braille and large print. Materials and playback machines are mailed to your door, completely free of charge.
Texas Parents of Blind Children
The state chapter of the National Organization of Parents of Blind Children (NOPBC), a division of the NFB of Texas, a national membership organization of parents and friends of blind children. Formed at the NFB of Texas State Convention in 2006 in order to reach out to parents of blind children and provide vital support, encouragement and information.
The Deaf-Blind Multihandicapped Association of Texas
The mission of DBMAT is to promote and improve the quality of life for all Texans who are deaf-blind multihandicapped. They support the establishment of educational, rehabilitative, vocational and independent living opportunities of these individuals for all ages.
Lighthouse for the Blind of Fort Worth
The mission of the Lighthouse for the Blind of Fort Worth is to empower individuals who are blind so they lead successful and independent lives.
