Place 3 Trustee Dr. Mia Hall, a central office administrator in Fort Worth ISD, former public school principal and National Blue Ribbon Award recipient, wanted to bring her professional experience and personal passion to the Crowley ISD Board of Trustees when she ran for office in 2015.

“I believe strongly in servant leadership and am excited for the opportunity to impact the education system and the community in which I live,” Hall said.

Hall was attending law school at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, now Texas A&M University School of Law, when she discovered her passion for education while substitute teaching. She decided to leave law school to become a teacher and now has more than 20 years of experience in public education. She currently works in Fort Worth ISD.

“Education is critical and can level the playing field among students,” Hall said. “Education is the key that unlocks every opportunity. It's the single most important thing that will provide women and men alike with every tool they will need to be successful.”

During Hall’s tenure on the school board, Crowley ISD has innovated its curriculum, improved facilities, opened a state-of-the-art career and technical education center and opened an elementary demonstration campus as well as a childhood development center for district personnel. Hall, in partnership with her fellow board members, community and the dedicated leaders, educators and personnel who comprise CISD’s family, have propelled CISD from under-performing to a B-rated district by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and is trending toward an "A.”

Hall obtained her bachelor’s degree in government/pre-law from The University of Texas in Austin and her master’s degree in-education administration and policy studies from UT Arlington. She also has a doctorate of education in educational leadership from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Her dissertation was entitled, “School Board Configuration: An Analysis of Board Member Roles and Responsibilities and Student Achievement.”

Hall volunteers in her community. She is a member of the Junior League of Fort Worth, serves on the United Way Community Investment Cabinet and was appointed to the city of Fort Worth Zoning Commission.

Hall and her husband of 20 years, Ibo, have a son, Xavier, who attends Southern Nazarene University on academic and baseball scholarships. They own Innovative Air LLC, a residential and commercial HVAC company in Fort Worth and Mia Hall Real Estate.

Hall’s hope for Crowley ISD is for it to be “ranked among the best public schools in not only our state, but our nation, and that we provide a superlative quality education for all students.”

“I will strive to support an innovative and inspiring educational experience for our students, one that prepares them for success in the 21st century,” she said.

Fun Fact: Hall has a great sense of humor, loves to roller skate and has participated in several Spartan obstacle course races.
