Circle assesses proficiency in the following domains:

• Rapid Letter Naming
• Rapid Vocabulary
• Mathematics
• Social & Emotional Development
• Early Writing

Ensure your child gets a good night’s sleep before the test and eats breakfast the morning of the test. Visit the Circle Resource page for ways to help prepare your child.

Parents should reach out to their child’s teacher and request a copy of their child’s results.

Students take the assessments three times a year - fall, winter and spring. Campuses are given a window of time to give the assessments, and they can schedule to fit their needs within that time frame. Campuses will communicate specific dates to families regarding assessment days for learners.

Teachers use Circle results to plan instruction that supports students’ development and academic success. Campus and district leaders review results to monitor student progress, evaluate early childhood program effectiveness, and ensure compliance with TEA requirements.
