Building Future-Ready Skills with Smart Learning Tools

Crowley ISD is preparing for learning activities that include the safe and guided use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in classrooms. AI is becoming part of everyday life, from the apps we use to the careers our students will pursue.

By introducing AI responsibly, we are helping students build the skills they need to succeed in a technology-driven future. This work follows the Texas Responsible Artificial Intelligence Governance Act (TRAIGA), which ensures schools use AI in ways that are safe, ethical and transparent. All activities will follow district guidelines and protect student privacy at every step.

We understand that AI can raise questions and misconceptions. These smart learning tools are designed to support teachers, not replace them, and to enhance learning without taking away creativity or critical thinking. Our goal is to empower students with knowledge and confidence so they are future ready for opportunities in college, careers and beyond.

How We Keep Students Safe When Using AI

Before any AI tool is allowed for student use in Crowley ISD, we review it using a Six-Point Safety System:

  1. Student Data Safety – The tool cannot collect or store personal student information without protection.
  2. Age Rules – The tool must follow all age limits and cannot allow accounts for children if the company restricts them.
  3. No Harmful or Unsafe Content – The tool must block harmful, violent or inappropriate responses.
  4. Clear Privacy Policy – The company must explain what data they collect and how they use it.
  5. No Use of Student Data to Train Models – The tool cannot use student work or pictures to train or improve their AI.
  6. District Control – The district must be able to turn off features, limit data sharing, and monitor use.

Only tools that meet all six checkpoints are approved for students.

AI in Careers: Why It Matters

Artificial Intelligence is shaping nearly every industry. From healthcare and finance to manufacturing and education, employers are looking for people who understand how to work with AI tools.

Jobs like data analysts, software developers, and even marketing professionals now require AI knowledge.

By introducing AI in schools, we are giving students a head start on skills that will open doors to high-demand careers and help them compete in a global economy.
