Programs Offered
- Pre-K3 (Half-Day): For qualifying 3-year-olds at select elementary schools
- Pre-K4 (Full-Day): For qualifying 4-year-olds at all elementary schools
- Spanish Bilingual: Pre-K3 & 4 at select campuses
- Vietnamese Bilingual: Pre-K3 full day, offered at Jackie Carden Elementary
- Tuition-Based Pre-K4: Open to all families; tuition fee based on a sliding scale to ensure equitable access

How to Apply for Prekindergarten

Please upload the following documents with your application:
1. Parent/guardian photo ID
2. Student’s Birth Certificate
3. Current immunization records
4. Proof of Residency (Any TWO of the following):
- Current utility bill (gas, water, or electric only – no cell or cable)
- Current lease agreement signed by the parent/guardian and leasing party
- Builder’s contract signed by the parent/guardian and builder
- Electronic copies/photos are acceptable

Are you already enrolled in Pre-K 3?
- Please click HERE to reserve your space for the 2026-27 school year.
- You are automatically eligible to attend Pre-K 4.
- Complete the online application, which is not available yet, to reserve your spot for next year.
- Please allow up to 10 days for your application to be processed.
- Upload your proof of income.
- All income levels are automatically qualified if your child was in a Crowley ISD Pre-K 3 class.
Eligibility For Free Prekindergarten
Currently students may qualify for free prekindergarten services in Crowley ISD by meeting one of the following federal guidelines:
- Unable to speak and understand the English language
- Educationally disadvantaged, which are eligible to participate in the National School Lunch Program
- Homeless
- Child of a member of the United States Armed Forces either active, deceased or injured
- Has ever been in State Foster Care
- Child of a person eligible for the State of Texas Award as a police officer, firefighter or EMT
- Employed as a classroom teacher at a public primary or secondary school in the school district that offers a Pre-K class.
Documentation of eligibility is required upon enrollment. Review the list below for the approved documentation required for each noted eligibility.

Prekindergarten Tuition Based Program

Tuition Based Prekindergarten
Crowley ISD prekindergarten program is available to any family that desires to enroll their 4-year-old child into school.
A sliding fee tuition scale will be used to provide equitable access to families of differing income levels, ranging from $200 to $400 per month.
Once enrollment is complete, families will receive an email with their child’s monthly tuition amount and campus placement, which is determined based on campus availability.
Early Childhood Special Education
Students in Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) are ages 3-4, identified with a disability, and demonstrate a need for special education. The primary goal of ECSE is to provide early intervention that prepares students for success in general education or in the least restrictive environment. The instructional focus is to provide learning opportunities appropriate to each child’s developmental level. In alignment with best practices for early childhood education, the ECSE program facilitates each student's mastery of their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. There is no cost associated with any ECSE services. Children who meet eligibility criteria may receive ECSE services in various settings, including prekindergarten classrooms.

Early Head Start Program
Crowley ISD has partnered with Child Care Associates to provide safe and engaging learning opportunities for young children. The Early Head Start (EHS) program serves infants and toddlers, under age 3. EHS programs provide intensive and comprehensive child development and family support services to income-eligible infants, toddlers, and their families. This program is only offered at J. A. Hargrave Elementary School. The application process is handled by Child Care Associates. Please use the contact information below to obtain further information on how to apply.

Why is Pre-Kindergarten important?
Students who are given the advantage of attending a pre-k program develop much needed emotional, academic, and social skills they may otherwise lack when entering kindergarten. Students who develop self-regulation skills gain confidence as they master academic concepts and learn to cooperate with their peers helping them to be more successful in kindergarten and beyond.
How old does my child have to be to enroll in Pre-Kindergarten?
A child must be three (3) years old on or before September 1 of the desired school year to enter prekindergarten.
Does my child have to qualify to go to Pre-Kindergarten for free?
Currently, students must qualify for free Pre-Kindergarten by meeting one of the following federal guidelines:
- Limited ability to speak and comprehend English language
- Economically educationally disadvantaged
- Homeless
- The dependent of an active duty member of the armed forces
- The dependent of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty
- Child has ever been in the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services
- The dependent of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award
What if I do not meet the qualification above?
Children who are four years old on or before September 1 of the current school year and who do not qualify for free prekindergarten program, are eligible to enroll in Crowley ISD's Tuition-Based Pre-Kindergarten Program. Enroll your four-year-old child for $200-400 a month August through May. The tuition amount is based on your household income. Payments will be due by the 10th of every month. Payments can be submitted electronically. Parents can sign up for an account to pay their tuition through RevTrak. To sign up and make payments please visit: RevTrak Homepage.
My child is three-years-old and does not qualify for Pre-Kindergarten. Can I enroll in a tuition-based program?
The tuition-based Pre-Kindergarten is for four-year-old students only.
What school will my four-year-old student attend?
Pre-Kindergarten for four-year-old students will be offered at all elementary campuses.
Is transportation provided?
Transportation is available to students enrolled in a Pre-K 4 program if they live further than 2 miles from their home campus. Bus transportation is not provided for students on a parent initiated transfer. For safety reasons, Pre-K 3 students are not permitted to ride CISD school buses.
Will you offer Pre-K for three-year-old students?
Five campuses will offer half day Pre-K for qualifying three-year-old students.
What campus will my 3-year-old student attend?
Pre-Kindergarten for three-year-old students will be offered at the following campuses:
- Bess Race Elementary - If your home school is Bess Race, Deer Creek or Baylor Elementary.
- Parkway Elementary - If your home school is Parkway or Sycamore.
- Meadowcreek Elementary - If your home school is Meadowcreek, J.A. Hargrave or Jackie Carden Elementary.
- Mary Harris Elementary - If your home school is Mary Harris, S.H. Crowley or Dallas Park Elementary.
- Oakmont Elementary - If your home school is Oakmont, Sue Crouch or June Davis Elementary.
- David L. Walker Elementary - If your home school is David L. Walker or Sidney H. Poynter Elementary.

My child qualified for bilingual Pre-Kindergarten. What campus will they attend?
For three-year-old students, the Bilingual Department will make every effort to place your child at a campus near your home. If you have questions about placement, please contact the Bilingual Department at 817-297-5236.

Is there a full day option for three-year-old students?
Full day Pre-K is offered to three-year-old students at Crowley Montessori Academy only. Students qualify to be eligible. More information can be found by visiting the following website: eligibility requirements required by Texas law.
Does my child need to be potty-trained to attend Pre-K?
Children that are not yet potty-trained may not be excluded from school. Parents are strongly encouraged to start preparing their child to independently access the restroom. CISD has toileting guidelines in place to support children that have frequent accidents. All pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students are required to have a complete change of clothes at school daily to ensure that they can change into clean clothes should they soil themselves. Will I need to provide updated documentation of my income at the beginning of the school year?
No. If you provide information at registration, you will not need to provide additional proof.
Can my child go to a campus other than our neighborhood school?
Parents can get more information about transfers by visiting the student transfer page.
Is my child guaranteed a spot in Pre-Kindergarten?
All eligible students are guaranteed access to pre-kindergarten. Tuition based Pre-K seats are limited and are subject to availability.
Does my child need to have a current shot record?
You will need to have your child's most current immunizations at registration. If your child is not current on immunization you will be asked to ensure they get required shots prior to the first day of school. Please contact your school nurse if you need support with this.
Is child care available before and after school?
Crowley ISD does not provide before and after school care for pre-kindergarten students. However, there are many childcare programs that do. Contact your neighborhood school for options.
