    This summer at TCU, we are offering over 80 camps that are project-based and designed to teach STEM. concepts through hands-on, interactive learning. Summer Camps at TCU are full of fun, learning and more fun! Camps are offered from June 3–August 8, 2019 and programs are for youth entering 1st–12th grade. Combine half-day camps to make a full day of it at TCU! Camps include:

    University of Texas at Arlington Engineering Camps

    • Entry to Engineering Day Camp - A team of engineering professors and graduate and undergraduate students from all of UTA’s engineering departments present material from all of UTA’s engineering disciplines – aerospace, biomedical, civil, computer science, electrical, environmental, industrial, materials science and mechanical. The instructors provide hands-on exercises in addition to their lectures to show a sampling of the many kinds of things that engineers do. 

    • Girls Engineering Summer Camp - This one-week day camp will introduce middle school young women to the field of engineering by showing how engineering is connected to personal issues, social concerns, and community interests. By conveying engineering concepts in a more personal, social and community-oriented context and introducing them to middle school girls, we will show how engineers connect, communicate, and improve the world. Campers will experience faculty presentations and lectures, lab tours, field trips, hands-on activities.

    Game Design Fundamentals: Learn what it takes to build your own video game worlds. Design and build your own games from start to finish using drag-and-drop programming with Tynker. Build 2D game worlds, design your own animated heroes and villains, program game controls and motion, add music, and program your own game logic. At the end of the week, show of your own original games and play them with friends and family. Game Development Studio: Learn to plan and design a variety of game types. Over the course of a week, you will design and build 2D platformers, top-down games, sidescrollers and physics based games. Students build a foundation of programming basics and apply them as they build a different class of game each day.

    Dare to Discover is a week-long summer enrichment camp offering classes for students who enjoy being academically and creatively engaged. Several performance-based and hands-on classes are offered. The camp culminates with a family open house including demonstrations, project displays and performances by participants.
