Hometown Pride: Ashley McKay

In our first installment of a new series called Hometown Pride, we take a look at eighth grade US History teacher Ashley McKay at Richard J. Allie Middle School. McKay, who is in her first year teaching in the district, was a 2009 Crowley High School graduate. She attended Bess Race Elementary, H.F. Stevens Middle School and CHS. McKay earned Academic All-State accolades in both track and basketball as an Eagle, while also being named homecoming queen, prom queen and Miss CHS during her senior year.

“Being able to teach where I grew up means the world to me. I feel so blessed to be able to work at a campus that is literally 2 minutes from where I grew up. I met so many incredible people during my time in Crowley that really helped shape me into the person that I am today. I’m so excited to give back to this community by serving students and hopefully be a small part of their journey,” said McKay.

If you are a graduate of either high school and would like to be featured in this series, please email information including your high school, graduation year and a photo to news@crowley.k12.tx.us.
