With the first day of school set for Monday, July 17 (see 2023-24 calendar), the extended school year design at David L. Walker Elementary creates more school days to maximize student achievement.

The additional days will also be helpful for teachers and campus support staff to focus on students' social needs by allowing children more time for social-emotional learning, mental breaks, interest-based activities and unstructured play.

NOTE: All elementary school students are eligible to apply, no matter where they live. Priority will be given to students who live within the David L. Walker Elementary attendance zone.
