Crowley ISD is continuing to take precautions to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in middle school and high school athletic programs.

The following safeguards that were announced in November will continue to be in effect until further notice to protect student-athletes, coaches and the entire Crowley ISD community:

Middle School Athletics
• All middle school athletic games are suspended.
• There will be no practices before or after school. During the athletics class period, student-athletes will participate in safe activities that allow for social distancing and face coverings to be worn.

High School Sub-Varsity Athletics (9th Grade and JV)
• No fans, including parents, family members and students, will be allowed to attend sub-varsity basketball games.
• Coaches will work to provide an opportunity for fans to watch sub-varsity games live online, when possible.
• All concession stands will be closed.

High School Varsity Basketball
• No fans, including parents, family members and students, will be allowed to attend varsity basketball games.
• Fans can watch varsity basketball games live online at crowleyisdtx.org/athletics.
• All concession stands will be closed.

High School Varsity Soccer
• A limited number of fans will be allowed to attend outdoor varsity soccer games where social distancing and face coverings will continue to be strictly enforced.
• All concession stands will be closed.

Crowley ISD is taking additional precautions to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in middle school and high school athletic programs.

Effective immediately and through Thanksgiving break, the following safeguards will be in effect to protect student-athletes, coaches and the entire Crowley ISD community:

Middle School Athletics
• All middle school athletic games are suspended.
• There will be no practices before or after school. During the athletics class period, student-athletes will participate in safe activities that allow for social distancing and face coverings to be worn.

High School Sub-Varsity Athletics (9th Grade and JV)
• No fans, including parents, family members and students, will be allowed to attend sub-varsity football or basketball games.
• Coaches will work to provide an opportunity for fans to watch sub-varsity games live online, when possible.
• All concession stands will be closed.

High School Varsity Football
• A limited number of fans will be allowed to attend varsity football games where social distancing and face coverings will continue to be strictly enforced.
• Students in band, cheer, drill team, color guard and other organizations that participate in varsity football games will continue to be allowed to do so while following health/safety protocols.
• All concession stands will be closed.

High School Varsity Basketball
• No fans, including parents, family members and students, will be allowed to attend varsity basketball games.
• Fans can watch varsity basketball games live online at crowleyisdtx.org/athletics.
• All concession stands will be closed.

“I realize this announcement will be disappointing for many of our students, families and staff,” Superintendent Dr. Michael McFarland said. “Though this is a difficult decision to announce, these steps are necessary to help keep our schools safe during this pandemic.”

“Working together, we must slow the spread of COVID-19 and protect our community,” McFarland said.

After Thanksgiving break, Crowley ISD will review the latest health data and consult with Tarrant County Public Health officials to determine how long these precautions will be kept in place.
