We are celebrating Black History Month across Crowley ISD with this year’s nationwide theme of “The Black Family: Representation, Identity and Diversity.” Our annual Black History Bowl will be virtual on Friday, Feb. 26. Please check back often as this page will continue to be updated throughout the month of February.

Black History Quiz Bowl Information
The 2021 Black History Bowl will take place virtually this year and be a team competition, consisting of four students per team. There will be two age divisions, an elementary division (grades 3-5) and a senior division (grades 6-12). Black History Quiz Bowl Art Show
There will be two student entries per campus invited to be judged for the art show. Entries must be original artwork of the students. Campus art contests should be completed and final artwork submissions should be prepared for pick up at your campus front office on 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 19. Please contact Shawneequa Blount at the following email address: shawneequa.blount@crowley.k12.tx.org, if you have questions about the process for submitting art work. All entries should be matted and no larger than 24x36. Please include student’s name, grade level, teacher’s name and campus on the back of the artwork.

Art Show Judging Criteria 
1. Clarity, adherence and expression of theme: “The Black Family”
2. Creativity and originality of depicted theme
3. Quality of artistic composition
4. Overall design
