Heroes Work Here

CISD Employees To Receive $1,000 Hero Payment

The Crowley ISD Board of Trustees approved awarding a one-time $1,000 payment for all professional and non-exempt CISD employees. The payment will be disbursed on Nov. 19, 2021.

Hero Pay is a small token of gratitude for employees' continued dedication to providing a safe place for students to learn during the COVID-19 pandemic. This payment is in addition to the 3-percent salary increase employees received as part of the 2021-22 budget approved this summer. The one-time payment will not be TRS eligible but will be subject to Medicare. Part-time employees will be pro-rated accordingly.

To be eligible staff must be employed as of Sept. 30, 2021 must receive regular November payroll check. Part-time employees who meet the eligibility requirements will receive prorated Hero Pay based on their FTE status.

District to Pay Contract Workers Higher Wages

Crowley ISD trustees approved adjusting compensation for others heroes as well — Durham, Aramark and ABM employees. Durham provides bus service to CISD, while Aramark provides food service and ABM contracts with the district to provide custodial services.

For Durham employees:
   • Raising starting wages from $16 to $19 per hour for bus drivers, staff and mechanics
   • Raising starting wages from $9 to $10 per hour for bus monitors

For Aramark employees:
   • $1,000 one-time payment
