NCHS Excels at VASE Competition

The North Crowley High School art department had a successful outing this past Saturday at the 2019 Visual Arts Scholastic Event.

In all, the Panthers had three students in Victor Torres, Erin O’Brien and Ja’Taibreyn Hankins advance to the TAEA VASE State Art competition, which will take place in San Marcos on April 26-27. 

Other students who competed in the Division I category included Rachel Bridges, Alesha Davis, Angel Aguilar, Trevon Boston, Natalie Pinales, Jeremiah Holland, Manar Alkfaish and Nafisa Zama. Students who entered work in Division II were David Cisneros, Nina Goana-Menchavez and Nikki Hewett. Finally, Anita Weseka and Fatima Anuza-Romo rounded out competitors in the Division III category. 

The purpose of the Texas Art Education Association Visual Art Scholastic Event is to recognize exemplary student achievement in visual art through individual and original expression of ideas applying the elements and principles of art based upon research of art media and art history.
