2020 Middle School Named After Allie

Richard J. Allie Middle School - Coming Fall 2020

The district’s next middle school will be named in honor of Richard J. Allie, a longtime Crowley ISD campus administrator. Allie served as principal of H.F. Stevens Middle School for 20 years from 1984-2004.

Allie was also a member of the United States Air Force Reserve and was called to active duty service in Operation Desert Storm while principal. He responded to his country’s call, along with his assistant principal and another staff member, leaving his campus in the hands of other administrators that he helped train for such an event. At the end of the Gulf War, Allie returned to H.F. Stevens and continued serving there as principal for 13 more years.

After retiring, Allie went to work in the College of Education at Texas Christian University where he still works, training and supervising student teachers.

The Richard J. Allie Middle School will open in the fall of 2020 and will be the district’s fourth middle school. It will be located in the building that is currently home to the B.R. Johnson CTE Center off FM 1187 in Crowley. A new building for the B.R. Johnson CTE Center will also open in fall of 2020.
