ESPN’s SportsCenter Comes To Crowley ISD

The national spotlight turned to Crowley ISD on Aug. 14 as ESPN’s SportsCenter broadcasted live from the North Crowley vs. Euless Trinity football scrimmage. The visit was part of the network’s SportsCenter: 50 States in 50 Days tour, a coast-to-coast series showcasing unique sporting traditions across the country.

Fans witnessed not only two powerhouse programs face off in preparation for the 2025 season, but also the excitement of being featured on ESPN’s flagship sports news program. Anchor Hannah Storm reported live from the South End Zone porch, hosting live interviews with head coach Ray Gates and senior standout John Turntine III.

The program highlighted the city of Fort Worth and North Crowley’s remarkable rise to the 2024 Class 6A Division I state championship. Shots of Crowley ISD Multi-Purpose Stadium filled the screen numerous times during the 60-minute episode.

This stop marked the only feature from the Lone Star State in SportsCenter’s 50 States in 50 Days, which began in late June. It was the first time in two decades that the show has embarked on such an ambitious cross-country journey.

The football season opens up on Aug. 28 with North Crowley hosting Lancaster at Crowley ISD Multi-Purpose Stadium. The Crowley Eagles will start their year on Aug. 29 at home against Birdville. Both games kickoff at 7 p.m. and all tickets will be sold online.
