Hunt received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2004 and earned a master's degree from Texas Christian University in 2011.
Why did you choose education as a career?
I am proud to be an educator. My desire is to serve, support, and learn. Here, we work together to identify needs and then address them, to touch the lives and futures of our children.

    Why is education important?

    Education opens doors and possibilities.

We teach students to ask questions, be curious, make connections, collaborate, solve problems, and learn.

We teach students to set goals and take courageous steps toward achieving their objectives.

We teach students to seek first to understand, and then to value and appreciate different points of view.

We teach students to value hard work and take pride in a job well done.

We teach students to recognize the value in others--and in themselves.

We teach students to read, write, speak, and solve, to listen, understand, create, and explore, so that they can throw open the doors to the world and make the world a better place.

What do you enjoy most about being the principal of Sycamore Elementary School?
I am happy and humbled to serve the very best team of faculty and staff, diverse students, supportive parents and engaged community at Sycamore. Sycamore is a unique campus, rich in diverse cultures, languages and backgrounds. We care deeply for each other and for our students. The Sycamore family is committed to doing whatever it takes to ensure each child is challenged to grow according to his or her individual needs and strengths. We intervene at the earliest possible moment, form partnerships with families and community, maintain high expectations and celebrate as our students thrive!

What is your hope for your campus?
At Sycamore, we believe relationships are at the heart of everything we do. I look forward to strengthening our legacy of ensuring that children of diverse backgrounds feel valued and are able to excel.

    Tell us about your family.
I have been married for 12 joyful years and we are proud of our two beautiful children, who are students in Crowley ISD. We love to read, laugh and spend time together outdoors.
