6.1 Mentor/Induction Program

Staff: To address and minimize the challenges of staff turnover, we begin during the interview of prospective teachers and staff. Our interview process includes a review of the professional development and ECHS philosophy commitment teachers and staff will make upon being hired. Annually, we start the school year with a review of our mission and vision incorporating all stakeholder voices into any revisions.  Because we have a very small staff, new members are guided to one or more staff who serve as mentors, e.g. someone in the same subject and another with close classroom proximity. We continue to discuss expectations, celebrations and challenges among the staff approximately each quarter, and we problem-solve as a team.

 

Students: Each CCA teacher will be assigned a group of students for an Achieve class.  Our vision of this class is to use the scheduled activities to build relationships, provide social & emotional supports, while teaching business soft skills, as well as provide these areas of study: expectations of academics & behavior, expectations of clothing attire in various situations (business casual, business professional, spirit days, and college days).
