Getting a healthy amount of food starts with knowing the right serving size. So what is in a serving of …

  • Fruit? ½ cup or ½ of a large fruit (Get 3 servings each day.)
  • Grains? 1 oz, 1 slice of bread or 1 cup of ready-to-eat cereal (Get 3 servings each day.)
  • Vegetables? ½ cup (Get 5 servings each day.)
  • Dairy? 1 cup (Get 3 servings each day.)
  • Protein? 1 oz of meat, 1 Tbsp peanut butter, 1 egg, ¼ cup of cooked beans (Get 5 servings each day.)
