Place 7 - Term Ends 2025

Kelicia Stevenson wants every child who passes through Crowley ISD to leave better than when they arrived and to walk away with opportunities for the future.

“There’s so much that Crowley has to offer,” Stevenson said, noting the many opportunities that CISD provides through the Bill R. Johnson CTE Center. “I hope every child who comes through Crowley ISD has a place to go after high school to achieve their full potential.”

Elected in 2022, Stevenson ran for school board because she wanted to help make a difference in the lives of children.

“What I hope to accomplish is making sure that we focus on the children, making sure we put their needs first and creating a learning environment where all the children can learn and be able to succeed,” she said. “I hope to one day see them working back in our community.”

A Paris, Texas native, Stevenson’s four children are all CISD graduates and one even returned to CISD as a teacher. She has three grandchildren and another on the way.

An investigator with the Texas Office of the Attorney General, Stevenson has worked for that office in different positions for 25 years. She also worked for Paris ISD as a paraprofessional, parent involvement coordinator and softball coach. She has a certification through the Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary for biblical counseling.

She is a board member on the Community Development Council for the city of Fort Worth as well as a member of the NAACP and American Association of Christian Counselors. She serves as president of a scholarship committee at Great Commission Baptist Church.

Stevenson, who said her passion is serving others, was proud to be part of the effort to pass the 2023 Bond and is excited to see the district growing.

“What most excites me is the growth, especially the growth that’s coming to Crowley ISD — knowing that we have children who are going to come here and we can make an impact on their lives,” she said.

“I love what Crowley is doing. I love what they stand for. I see so much what they’re doing to benefit our kids. I personally believe we’re the best district in the world. Dr. McFarland has a desire for us to be top in Tarrant County, and I want to be part of making that happen.”

Fun Fact: Stevenson loves coming up with new games to play with her family, and they never play the same game, so her family members are always anticipating the next gathering to see what she has created for them to do.
